Being born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, maize and blue bleed from my veins. Reflecting on my own journey, having graduated in 1992 with a degree in business, communications, and psychology, I realize these remain the core attributes of my practice today in helping others on their journey towards financial freedom, peace of mind, and a lifetime of abundance and adventure.

In law school, the courses that interested me the most were those related to taxes and estate planning. Upon graduating, I worked at a large mutual fund firm where the opportunities to grow and learn were abundant, including the opportunity to attain my CFP® designation and broaden my planning toolkit. It wasn’t long before I found that I had the will, skill, and passion for helping clients well beyond estate planning, so I transitioned to a wealth manager role.

I learned finance from my grandfather at the ripe age of 10 years old. Early on, I observed and learned from others the importance of making good financial decisions, as well as the ramifications of making poor ones. I enjoy sharing my knowledge to see others flourish in an area that is unfortunately, not taught to us in school.

Money and finances are one of the leading causes of stress in the United States, and most of that stress comes from the lack of knowledge people have about personal finance. Not only do I love to help people achieve their financial goals, but my aim is to provide education and foster healthy habits in the process with the goal to reduce money-related stress and anxiety.

I adapt to changing environments exceptionally well, having lived in and visited many countries around the world. I believe my exposure to many different cultures has helped me on my professional journey by teaching me to respect and listen to my colleagues, to absorb information to learn and grow, and to find the best ways to implement action amidst differing perspectives.

I have always taken an interest in finance, and I believe sound financial decision-making is part of the foundation that allows people to live their lives to the fullest and see their dreams turn into reality! I take pride in making sure the little things are done right. Knowing that everything I do plays a role in helping others live out their dreams keeps me inspired and motivated each day.
Bo supports the firm in his role as Investment Analyst by applying a sharp mind, genuine can-do spirit, and analytical expertise to investment research, trading, and portfolio management. At SAM, Bo is known for his generous smile and growth mindset, always focused on building better solutions for our clients and SAM’s long-term future.
Having joined SAM as an intern in 2013, Bo came on board as a full-time team member in 2015 after completing his studies at New York University, where he graduated with a B.S. in Finance and Statistics.
Bo grew up in South Florida rooting for the Miami sports teams, primarily the Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins. He enjoys reading (mainly sci-fi/fantasy novels) and volunteering with New York Cares.
I had an affinity for math and statistics growing up, so I was always naturally interested in markets and investing. I grew up with parents who taught me the importance of saving and investing, but I don’t think I appreciated their guidance enough until I experienced it firsthand during 2008. Wanting to help people through times like those really guided my decision to pursue this career path.
Jacob brings a diverse background and deep-seated passion for building future-oriented solutions to his role as Associate Wealth Strategist. He supports the firm with enriched client service and contributes to strategic business initiatives.

Jacob graduated Cum Laude with High Honors from Harvard University with a degree in Comparative Religion.
Outside the office, Jacob is an avid woodworker, marathon runner, and huge sports fan. He is also heavily involved in Jewish communal work and enjoys volunteering with children with special needs.
My passion has always been helping others. Since I was young, I’ve seen the stress that financial decision-making can put on people. My goal is to be able to take that stress off others so that they can be confident in the knowledge that they will have the money to do what they want and need to do no matter what happens. I want people to know that their finances are taken care of so that they can live their lives and do what makes them happy.
