Setbacks | Wisdom, Wealth, and Wellness

May 11, 2022 | New York City | Video Recorded April 24, 2022

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Depending on the part of the world you’re in. This is Jonathan Satovsky of Satovsky Asset Management and on today’s episode of “Seeking Wisdom, Wealth, and Wellness,” I want to talk about setbacks, disappointments, or even temporary defeats.

Losses, whether it’s in sports or whether it’s in business. Whether it’s in markets or whether it’s in life. You’re either learning or growing, so every setback—if you reframe it—is an opportunity to learn and grow.

Embrace the setbacks. Embrace the defeats. The more that happens, the more it’s equivalent to a slingshot. The further you’re down, the further up that you can go. Just enjoy the journey—every part of it—the good, bad, and ugly. Don’t expect perfection because that’s where all disappointment comes from. It’s the gap and the gain, the difference between expectations and reality.

So just realize that you’re going to have setbacks, you’re going to get knocked down, you’re going to have temporary defeats.

Markets decline, markets rise.

They decline, they go down further than people expect and go up further than people expect.

Maintain your equilibrium through it all and you too will find a way to enjoy every bit of the path on your journey to Wisdom, Wealth, and Wellness.

Have a great day.
