Your investing philosophy is exponentially more important than performance

May 20, 2021 | New York City | Video Recorded May 15th, 2021

Jonathan Satovsky talks about why it’s more important to have a good investing philosophy than obsess about performance.

Good afternoon, this is Jonathan Satovsky of Satovsky Asset Management.

And today’s topic on seeking wisdom, wealth and wellness, is why it’s more important to have a good philosophy than obsess about performance.

And why do I say that?

Well, I can show you example after example after example.

Over the last 25, 30 years of helping people with their money mishegas, the initial question when someone meets me is, what is your performance?

And I say, it depends.

It depends on your goals, it depends on your circumstance, it depends on how we curate the path that you’re on.

That will determine your success.

Performance, well if you don’t reach your goals, that’s the only performance that matters.

So philosophy is exponentially more important than performance because if you are performance obsessed, as it’s so easy to get seduced by, it’s going to be like chasing squirrels.

Huh, squirrel, squirrel, squirrel!

And you’ll never be able to be calm, cool, relaxed, confident and have the courage to be able to pursue big dreams and goals on your path to wisdom, wealth and wellness.

So adhere to a philosophy and enjoy a beautiful day.

Have a great day!
